Family Pics 2009

Here are the family pictures that we had taken the week before Christmas. I wanted to get out Holiday cards, but there just didn't end up being near enough time to do that, since they were done so close to Christmas. I really love my photographer, as always she did an awesome job. Thanks Courtney! I hope everyone enjoys them!

Our version of "LUCK"

So, the new year is here, and I really had made myself believe that things would be better. I was even psyching myself up for it.

Even though I know we aren't very far into the year, it still feels like the bad of 2009 continues to spill over into 2010. Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for everything I have, a home, a husband, with a job, a beautiful little girl, a job of my own, enough money to pay my bills (even if it is a little tight) a family who I know I can count on no matter what I need help with and so many other things.

However, I also feel like we could use even just a month, where we don't have walls crumbling around us. Jordan, has been sick with Upper respiratory infections on and off since August. She has finally gone close to 2 weeks with nothing more than a little runny nose and small cough. I have had my own bodily health issues, have 2 diagnosed Sinus infections and 1 that I am pretty sure was, but never went to the instacare. I have so many other things going on as well, but that would just be TMI for me to share with you.

Our house, is almost litterally, the walls crumbling around us. A picture window in our kitchen/living room is falling out the back of the house, and contributing to a small (or not so small) leakage of cold and wet into our house. We have a cement wall that is between our driveway and our neighbors driveway which, lucky us, is falling into our side. There is a crack top to bottom where part of the wall leans almost a foot further into our driveway than the rest of the main wall. We decided to add/change a few small things in our kitchen and basement, so once we get a little extra money, so we can start on them, we realize how much more we need new tires for my Blazer.

Bryce took it down first thing this morning and had tires put in it. On my way home at lunch today, I stopped for gas, after filling it, I get back in it, and try to start it. All I hear is A LOT of clicking! Dead Battery, yay for car problems! Some very rude man sat in his WARM truck behind me at the pump impatiently waiting for me to move. I finally got out and told him I couldn't go anywhere as I was DEAD! He backed up and drove around to another pump to fill his truck. (I was quite irritated with the lack of chivalry as you can see) Thankfully a very nice girl on the other side of my pump asked if I needed help, and told me she would jump me after she finished filling her car up. With the help of a couple of very polite boys, we got it running so I could at least get home. Upon my arrival home, and half my lunch hour gone, by the way I work 5 minutes from my house, Bryce went out to start our truck. He had just fixed it on New Years day of the horrendous oil leak our driveway still has scars from. Not 2 minutes later, he comes back in the house to tell me, "You know, if it weren't for bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck at all!" As soon as he started it, so much diesel was dripping from underneath it, that you wouldn't expect it to be able to run for 10 minutes with a full tank. As Bryce already needed fuel, we went straight to the gas station to put enough diesel in it so he could get me back to work, and get to a store for a new battery to put in my Blazer so we could have at least 1 running vehicle, but not so much diesel that we would be feeding the driveway $70 worth by filling it up.

All that said, when I am having a better day, I will post about the better aspects of the last couple months. We had family pictures, that I think turned out great, and Jordan loved everything about Christmas. I know there are many people, and even many of them are my friends and family, who are going through their own difficult trials, and to you, I am praying for you all and wishing for the best outcome possible. Hopefully the saying, "It can only get better from here" is true for you and me, and I will try to continue believing that 2010 is going to be a good year, more likely than today, that belief will return after this horrendous day or possibly week is over.
