2 month Dr appt.

I took Jordan to her 2 month doctor appt yesterday. They measured her at 23 1/2 inches and weighed her at 11 1/2 pounds. On the paper they give you with the percentages, it shows she is about in the 90% for height and about the 75% for weight. She had to have 3 shots, and she screamed her way through them, and for a few minutes after. (thank goodness for Tylenol, and the doctor for giving me a sample, since I hadn't bought any yet) The doctor checked her soft spot, and told me it is closing up too fast, so he wanted an x-ray done and sent me down to the lab. I had to hold Jordans head still while they did an x-ray of the front and one of the side of her head. Once again, she screamed her way through it. I talked to the doctor's assistant today, and thank the Lord, the radiologist says everything looks normal with her head. I am not sure what I would have done if there was a problem. Just having to get the x-rays done scared me out of my mind. I am so grateful to have such a healthy baby, and that she has been such a laid back mellow baby so far. She has even slept 8 straight hours during the night twice in the last week. Even with that said, I feel lucky with her sleep at night, she normally sleeps 5 to 6 hours during the first stretch and about 3 or 4 the second. From all the stories I have heard of babies waking 3 or 4 times a night, Jordan's 1 time she wakes seems like nothing.

My sister-in-law Rene took some really cute pictures of Jordan while she was watching her for me, so I will post them for you all to see. They look so professional, and she did a great job at catching her at the right time with her smiles. I wish I was that talented. (maybe she will be nice enough to give me some pointers) Rene has been great to help me out with watching Jordan when Misty has to work. I really appreciate her help, and I am glad she enjoys having Jordan around. Thanks a ton Rene, I don't know what I would do without you.

Bryce's deer

So, Bryce spent the weekend at the Bookcliffs with his dad and his Uncle Gary. He drew out a limited archery buck tag, and got his deer. He overshot a couple, due to misjudging their distance. (he says he won't listen to his uncle next time on distance) But, he shot a 4 point on Monday, and I was so excited for him to come home. He says it's not a monster, but he is happy with it for his first archery tag. He is going to have them do a European mount on him, which is ok with me, especially since it is so much cheaper.

I am really happy for him, good job Bryce.

Jordan is getting so big

So, I don't know how fast kids usually grow, since this is my first, but it seems to me she is just getting so big so fast. When I read all of the baby updates about where your baby should be at a certain age, it always seems like she has been doing those things for weeks when I get the update. For about 2 weeks now, I have been doing a change over from 0-3 month outfits to the 3-6 month outfits. That is scary for me, since she isn't even 2 months old yet. I guess she will just be tall like her dad. I am just not ready for that quite yet. She sometimes loves her tummy time, and sometimes she just screams. She coos and talks so much, smiles all the time and even almost laughs pretty often. I just love her so much, and now that I have to work I feel like I am missing so much of her growing up.

Jordan's Newborn Pictures

Ok, so here is just one more brag on my photographer. Like I said before I absolutely LOVE her. Here are some of the pictures that she took of Jordan. And this really is nothing. All of them are so adorable, I wish I could post all of them, but really there are more than 80 pictures. It would take me all day to get them on here. I could go on and on about how awesome she is, she is the most personable person, and I think the way she uses her expression of pictures is amazing.

Jordan's new swing

Now, I know swings are great to have for kids, but I found the coolest one. I don't know how many of you have seen these, they are made by Fisher-Price and are called a Papasan Swing. They not only swing front to back, but also side to side. Jordan absolutely loves it. It has a mirror on the top, and little animals that spin in a circle. She just looks up at them and her reflection in the mirror and smiles. My friend Crystal borrowed me her Graco swing she isn't using at the time, and I was so grateful. I didn't have one, and it was amazing to be able to set her down and she would just drift right off to sleep in it. However, I saw the Papasan swing in a baby magazine, and just had to get one. (By the way, when I checked out Target, Babies R Us, etc, they all wanted $140. for the Papasan Swing, and none of them had it in store only on line. I was lucky enough to find it on Amazon.com, for $84.99 with FREE shipping, just in case anyone else decides they want to get one. I got it delivered to my house in exactly 1 week from when I ordered it, FREE SHIPPING. I thought that was awesome.) So, and If Crystal is ok with it, I am going to send her swing over to my sister Misty's house, who is going to be watching Jordan for me once I go back to work next week. (Since Misty gave her swing from Noah away, and she doesn't have anything to keep Jordan "sleeping" while not holding her.) I will admit, I may have created a Monster with that. She LOVES to be held, and a lot of the time will get upset it you put her down for too long.

Brain Squisher

Bryce absolutely hates the head bands that everyone puts on their girls. He calls them brainsquishers. He has threatened to cut them up if he sees any of them. I literally have to hide them from him. So, I had a couple in my diaper bag, and Misty and I decided to get at least a couple pictures of Jordan wearing one. As long as Bryce never sees the pictures, I am fine. (Although there was a day that we put one on her and took a picture with our cell phones and texted the picture to him. He was not very happy.)

Moab

We took a weekend trip to Moab in March with Garret, Misty, Steve, and Noah. The first thing we did was head up Kane Creek Road, and go to explore Moon Flower Canyon. Steve and Bryce climbed the ladder that was built by those Ancient Indians who left all the hieroglyphs.






Then we went exploring up the trail.


Misty, Noah and I waited while Bryce and Steve kept going farther up the trail to explore more.


After we checked into our hotel, we went and found one of the many hummer tour companies, and took an afternoon hummer tour. There were only 2 other people other than our group who went on the tour with us. If I remember right, we went on Hell's Revenge trail. This picture is of Lion's back, which you can no longer wheel on. The tour guide told us that there is a Toyota 4runner stuck in the crack between Lion's back (on the left of the picture) and the rock.

Bryce took this picture, it is supposed to look like we had no brakes. Really we were parked on that hill.


This picture is a little deceptive. There is a rock that sits on a big edge, and if you "LAY" on it, and put your feet in the air, it looks like you are hanging from a cliff.



After the hummer tour, we went to dinner, and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the restaraunt. But, it was good. Bryce and Steve both got the M.O.A.B. (Mother of all Burritos) and decided to have a contest. They were really big burritos, they filled the whole plate.


Eventually though, they both surrendered. Neither of them could finish theirs. (Notice the white flags they made with their napkins?)




On Sunday morning, we headed out, but stopped and saw some of the Arches first. Our first stop was Balancing Rock.




Then we stopped at Windows (North and South Window Arch)


And Turrett Arch.


Our last stop was Delicate Arch, although we didn't do the trail up to the Arch. For two very good reasons. 1, I was pregnant, and already very very worn out, and 2, Garret and his wheelchair. Although, Bryce, Steve and Garret took the short trail to get a little closer, and Bryce and Steven ended up carrying Garret and his wheelchair up the stairs. (With a little help from some guy who just happened to be nice enough to offer his help.) Garret admitted it was crazy of them to even try it. They were all pooped when they got back down.


Misty, Noah and I waited at the view point for them. Yes, it was very cold, and yes, I know the gloves are a bit goofy, but hey, it was all I had in my car.
